Trump will attend ceremonies on Sept. 1 denoting the 80th anniversary of the beginning of World War II. The conflict started in 1939 when the Germans invaded Poland.

The president and first lady will also meet with the Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II. Trump will meet with Danish business leaders and other officials while there.

Trump had hinted at the travel during remarks to reporters on Tuesday at the White House.

“We’ve been invited by the leadership of Poland, and I look forward to it. I like the people,” Trump said, adding that the White House had been “looking at” going to Denmark as well.

Prior to visiting Poland and Denmark, Trump will be in Europe for the annual Group of Seven (G-7) meeting. That summit is being hosted by France from Aug. 24-26.

Trump has hosted Polish President Andrzej Duda multiple times at the White House, and visited Warsaw in July 2017. He delivered a speech there that he recently claimed “some people” had referred to as “the best speech ever made by a president in Europe.”
