DENMARK – The Denmark Viking defense held Green Bay West to negative rushing yards and just 60 yards total in a dominating 41-0 win on Friday night in Denmark.
The Vikings evened their record at 2-2.
Green Bay West (0-4) rushed 27 times for minus-45 yards.
Gabe Wertel scored three touchdowns for the Vikings, who
rushed, unofficially, for 330 yards. Wertel had 165 yards on 18 carries, while
Ethan Schwartz added 73 yards on eight rushes, including a touchdown. Kenny
Satori carried three times for 34 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown scamper.
Reece Piontek added a two-yard sneak for another score.
Wertel had touchdown runs of 5, 15 and 64 yards.
Piontek was 5 of 14 through the air for 81 yards. For the
third straight game, he connected for a big play to Seth Alexander, this time a
49-yarder to the one in the third period.
Denmark led only 14-0 at intermission but scored three
times in the first eight minutes of the third period, including in the first
minutes of the second half.
